Is it true that I can earn premium discounts through “Risk Rewards”? Tell me more…
Risk Rewards is the cornerstone of our Managing Risk program. You can save up to 15 percent on your insurance premium through your successful completion of Risk Rewards activities. These savings are in addition to any discounts you may already have, such as our loss-free discount. Discounts earned during the 2007 calendar year will be credited to policy renewals beginning in July 2008. All eligible policyholders are mailed written materials detailing the options. You may also access this information at www.ismie.com; e-mail an inquiry to riskmanagement@ismie.com; or phone us at 1-800-782-4767, ext. 1627, or 312-853-1627.
What mechanisms are in place to support me in the event of a claim?
Contacting our Claims Division is the place to start. Call 1-800-782-4767, or 312-782-2749. Our expert staff will guide you through the process and support you with all the experience, resources and information you need to navigate this stressful time.
What is ISMIE Mutual doing to counteract the medical liability crisis?
- Through our Reality Medicine campaign, we provide materials to help you raise patient awareness of “physician flight” and the need for caps on non-economic damage awards.
- We meet with editorial boards to apprise them of the issues. Our letters to the editor and favorable editorials are published with regularity in newspapers across the state.
- With ISMS, we work to advance patient- and physician-friendly legislation at the state and federal levels.
- To help keep you informed, we travel to hospitals across Illinois to answer your questions and address your concerns at your medical staff meetings.
- We provide innovative programs such as “Risk Rewards” as well as seminars to assist you with protecting your personal assets.
- We never back down from plaintiff lawyer-backed “consumer rights” groups and other adversaries who blame physicians and insurance companies for the current crisis. This is part of their effort to divert attention from the goal of meaningful tort reform.
