ISMIE Hangs Tough with "Excellent" Rating |
A.M. Best has awarded ISMIE another A- "Excellent" rating for financial strength, demonstrating once again that fiscal discipline is the best medicine for a tough market.
ISMIE received its first "Excellent" rating in 2001, and that was a major milestone. Maintaining that rating when other companies are being downgraded, however, speaks volumes for ISMIE's long-term financial strength and integrity.
A.M. Best specifically praised ISMIE for sound underwriting, aggressive claims defense, and a commitment to building and maintaining strong claims reserves. It sounds like a simple formula, but many companies are in hot water right now because they made poor underwriting and rating decisions while grabbing market share in the 1990s.
ISMIE stuck to its game plan of offering great insurance coverage and service at a reasonable price, while building financial reserves to ensure long-term stability. As A.M. Best puts it, companies that receive the "Excellent" rating "have a strong ability to meet their ongoing obligations to policyholders."
