Defendant Reimbursement Coverage Helps Defray

ISMIE provides free defendant reimbursement coverage of $500 per day so you can actively participate in your own defense.

Your active participation in your own defense is essential to an aggressive, successful defense. Although it may be frustrating, difficult and time-consuming, your defense team is strongest when you are part of the team. To make the claims process, and the time it may take away from your practice more manageable, ISMIE offers defendant
reimbursement coverage for current ISMIE insured physicians. Please note that the coverage only applies if your ISMIE policy is active at the time you attend any proceeding.

ISMIE will compensate you $500 per day, up to 10 days each policy period, to help defray lost income while you are aiding in your own defense. You will receive this sum for each day spent at depositions (other than your own) and at trial, up to a maximum of $5,000 per policy year. Your participation in your own defense is a significant factor in our successful track record of more than 80 percent of claims closed without an indemnity payment.
