Founding Board Member Eugene P. Johnson, M.D.

Eugene P. Johnson, M.D., an original board member who served ISMIE Mutual from 1976-1996, passed away on April 2.

Dr. Johnson was also a well-respected past president of ISMS (1989). In addition, he was a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, served as president of the Clark County Medical Society, and as chair, director, and vice president of the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians.

A lifelong resident of Casey, Ill., he retired from family practice in 1983. After his retirement, he became a physician consultant to the Illinois Department of Public Aid, serving until 2003.

Dr. Johnson is fondly remembered by his friends and colleagues at ISMIE Mutual and ISMS.
