Online Win for Tort Reform

Your vote made a difference in the recent Crain’s Chicago Business online poll that asked: “Does Illinois need tort reform?” Policyholders and other pro-reform citizens weighed in to make their opinions known. When the poll closed, a solid 74 percent of respondents agreed that reform is needed in our state. Thanks to those who increased awareness through their vote on this essential issue!

Bogus Testimony Rebutted

In the House Judiciary Committee’s first hearing on the medical litigation crisis in Illinois (see cover story), former Missouri insurance commissioner and present-day trial attorney Jay Angoff presented misleading testimony about ISMIE Mutual, hoping to derail productive discussions about the root cause of Illinois’ medical litigation crisis. ISMIE Mutual methodically rebutted each point with the facts. Read the entire rebuttal at www.ismie.com.
