Access Your Risk Rewards “Report Card”
You may now access an online progress report of all your Managing Risk/Risk Rewards activities completed since 2004. Simply go to www.ismie.com and click on the “MyRewards” link. The report, which will be continually updated, includes the name of the activity or seminar, completion date, and percentage discount earned.
New MedRisk® Courses
Two new MedRisk® courses, based on actual medical liability cases, are now available to policyholders: “Risk Management Consult: Failure to Diagnose” and “Risk Management Consult: Low Health Literacy.” Upon successful completion, each online course earns a 2%
premium discount for one policy year.
The Sullivan Group Courses
More than 98 percent of ISMIE-insured physicians who have participated in The Sullivan Group e-learning courses have rated the activities “good to excellent.” Currently, policyholders may select from among 24 clinically based courses, each of which earns a 1% premium discount for one policy year. Both MedRisk® and The Sullivan Group courses offer AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits and may be accessed by clicking on the Managing Risk icon at www.ismie.com.
Fellowship Program
Launched in 2004, ISMIE’s Managing Risk Fellowship Program recognizes policyholders who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to managing their practice risk. To date, nearly 200 policyholders have completed all required coursework and have been notified of their eligibility to take the Fellowship exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, these policyholders will receive a 10 percent premium discount, effective for two consecutive policy years. Join your colleagues, and earn your Fellowship designation (and AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits as well). All coursework must be completed before Dec. 31, 2006, for premium discounts to be applied to your annual policy renewal beginning on or after July 1, 2007. Make the most of your time in the upcoming months with the many options available to you through ISMIE’s Managing Risk program. Stunning Stats for Risk Rewards Program
The ongoing success of the Managing Risk/Risk Rewards program is evident – participation last year jumped nearly 60 percent over 2004. Thousands of physicians are saving real dollars off their medical liability insurance premiums. For example, through dedicated participation, one Illinois group practice reduced their group premium by $60,000!
These 2005 stats tell the story.
- More than 6,500 policyholders participated in the Risk Rewards program.
- 42,640 individual risk management activities were completed.
- 102 risk management seminars were conducted, with more than 8,000 participants.
- 1,150 office assessments were conducted.
- More than 17,000 online educational programs were completed by policyholders.
Schedule Your Office Assessment Today
The deadline for first-time participants to schedule an office assessment for 2006 is September 1. Take these steps to earn a 5% premium discount over two full policy years:
- Call us or log on to our Web site to request the practice assessment guidelines and expectations booklet. It describes the processes, systems and practices the ISMIE Mutual surveyor will expect to find in full implementation when he or she visits your practice to conduct the survey.
- Review the guidelines and expectations to make sure all the required elements applicable to your practice are in place.
- Fill out the request for office assessment survey form located at the back of the booklet. Return the postage paid self-mailer to ISMIE Mutual via fax or mail. You will be contacted to confirm a survey date.
