Frederic D. Lake, M.D.
Frederic D. Lake, M.D., 92, founding member and first chairman of ISMIE Mutual (1976-1982), passed away on April 18, 2006. A radiologist and longtime resident of Evanston, IL, Dr. Lake also served as ISMS president (1974-1975).
Dr. Lake attended Amherst College and Harvard Medical School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel and earning a Bronze Star.
Dr. Lake was Chief of Radiology at Columbus Hospital from 1950-1978. He served in leadership roles at the American Medical Association, Chicago Medical Society, the American College of Radiology and Chicago Radiological Society. Dr. Lake also served as president of the Board of Education, District 202, Evanston Township High School, from 1964-1968.
Dr. Lake will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
