Frederick Z. White, M.D. 1923 - 2006
With his passing at age 83, Frederick Z. White, M.D., leaves an impressive legacy of commitment to Illinois physicians and patients.
Dr. White was born in Chicago, served in the Naval Air Force during World War II, and received his M.D. from Northwestern University. He maintained a
family practice in Chillicothe, near Peoria, delivering more than 2,000 babies over the course of his career. Dr. White served as president of the medical staff at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, and founded clinics for underserved populations, including migrant workers.
From 1982 -1991 Dr. White served as chairman of the Illinois State Medical Inter-Insurance Exchange, now ISMIE Mutual. He served as president of the Illinois State Medical Society from 1981-1982
and as president of the Peoria Medical Society (1965).
Dr. White will be fondly remembered by friends and colleagues at ISMIE.
