Risk Rewards Round-Up

With sizzling summer just around the corner, now is a good time to check your progress toward earning premium discounts during 2008. To view your secure online record of completed activities and premium discounts earned thus far, go to www.ismie.com and click on “MyRewards.” Ensure this is the year you earn your maximum 15% premium discount.

Avoid the end-of-year crunch and plan your activities for the remainder of the year. Consider some of the activities listed on this page, consult your Risk Rewards Resource Guide or visit www.ismie.com and click on “Risk Rewards Resources.” Remember, many learning activities are available to you online any time of day or night, with Internet access.

Eighty percent minimum participation required

For live ISMIE educational activities, such as seminars, workshops or webinars, policyholders must be present for a minimum of 80% of the activity to be eligible for the test issued following the activity. Policyholders must successfully complete the Risk Rewards post-test with a score of 80% or better to be eligible for the premium discount. This participation level and test score minimum is defined as “full participation,” effective Jan. 1, 2008.

NEW A lunch time conversation

ISMIE Mutual is pleased to announce a new educational audioconference series, called “Risk Rewards Connect.” These faculty-led, live audioconferences are designed so policyholders can participate in risk management learning anywhere they can access a telephone. The series kicks off with these seminars:

• Implementing a Just Culture to Improve Patient Safety
  May 29 > noon to 1 p.m.

• Case Studies in Litigation
  June 10 > noon to 1 p.m.

Policyholders who successfully complete a Risk Rewards Connect activity are eligible to receive a 1% premium discount. To register, call 800-775-7654.

Continued recognition for Fellows

You worked hard to earn your premium discount through the Risk Management Fellowship Program; ensure that your 10% premium reduction continues. If you have successfully completed the Fellowship Program in 2006, you are eligible to participate in the “Fellowship Continuing Recognition Program.”

To remain active as a Fellow, you must successfully complete two online courses, after which ISMIE will inform you in writing that you are eligible to take a final exam (either online or at an ISMIE test center in Chicago or Springfield). Successful completion will earn you a 10% Fellowship discount for another two years.
