Practice Management Day for Staff

Designed for policyholders and their practice management staff, this day long program will address communication, documentation and system areas of potential liability and offer useful strategies to help manage your risk. This year’s program will address the following topics:
HIPAA Update
You’ll learn how to: Identify the changes to HIPAA privacy and security requirements; review and select templates from those provided that work best in practice settings.
Improving Employee Performance with Job Descriptions
You’ll learn how to: Examine staff and physician behaviors and how they can escalate to being disruptive, as well as how they affect your practice; apply strategies and techniques for disciplining disruptive behaviors and motivating employees to be team players.
Disruptive Employees and How They Hurt Your Practice
You’ll learn how to: Identify the "basic" job descriptions a practice should have; identify who writes the job descriptions; define what to include in a job description, how to establish performance standards, and how to meld the two in order to evaluate, improve, and insure optimal employee performance; define a schedule for the review and updating of job descriptions.
Patient Satisfaction: Getting to the Bottom Line
You’ll learn how to: Discuss how good employees promote patient satisfaction; identify why patient satisfaction surveys should be conducted; identify what kind of survey options exist and what questions should be included; assess who should be surveyed; examine how to use survey data to evaluate practice weaknesses and turn them into strengths.
EHR Conference and Exhibit

With the importance of electronic health records (EHRs) in the current health care environment, many physicians are making decisions that will require significant staff and financial resources about selection, implementation and maintenance of EHR systems. In order to assist ISMIE policyholders and ISMS members as they navigate these difficult decisions, ISMIE and ISMS are co-hosting this day long conference.
In addition to the conference, participants will have the opportunity to visit with exhibitors. Registered attendees who visit with every exhibitor during the EHR Conference and Exhibit may enter a raffle to win an iPad mini. Please note: The raffle will occur prior to the final session of the day.
