ISMS Recaps 2022 Springfield Activities
June 28, 2022
Our friends at the Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) have been busy in Springfield advocating for doctors on topics important to medicine.
This spring the Illinois General Assembly held one of the shortest, yet busiest, legislative sessions in memory. ISMS was a primary stakeholder in negotiations to amend Illinois’ surprise billing law to track with the federal No Surprises Act and supported a successful initiative to increase access to care and improve privacy for sexual assault survivors. Gov. Pritzker also recently signed an ISMS-backed law requiring insurance and managed care plans to provide coverage for continuous glucose monitors.
