April Is Child Abuse Prevention Month
Physicians and healthcare professionals are in a unique position to identify child abuse due to the relationship they have with their patients and their ability to intervene and report the abuse. The national observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April is dedicated to raising awareness about this important topic and promoting prevention strategies.
ISMIE offers several resources and provides guidance to help you establish processes for addressing potential child abuse and neglect. Health professionals have a legal and ethical responsibility to identify victims of abuse.
