Watch Out for Postcards Advertising Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
April 20, 2021
Have you received an official-looking “License Notice” yellow postcard indicating that sexual harassment prevention training is now required for Illinois physicians’ license renewal?
While it is true that sexual harassment prevention training has been a licensure renewal requirement since 2019, these postcards are advertisements for a private company selling CME programs, and are not endorsed by or affiliated with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
As you complete your 150 hours of continuing medical education in advance of the next medical license renewal cycle in 2023, keep in mind that one of those hours must be devoted to sexual harassment prevention training.
ISMIE offers courses that are designed to satisfy Illinois’ CME mandates on sexual misconduct prevention, including Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training for Medical Professionals.
