New Content Available in ISMIE’s Violence Prevention Toolkit

April 30, 2024

April is Workplace Violence Prevention Awareness Month and ISMIE is sharing a new article explaining the Safety from Violence for Healthcare Employees (SAVE) Act currently under consideration by the U.S. Congress. The proposed legislation comes at a time when healthcare workers and facilities remain at high risk as targets for violence.

The article is featured as part of ISMIE’s violence prevention toolkit, which is designed to help policyholders mitigate violence in healthcare settings. The toolkit also includes several resources:

  • Printable templates, such as a “no violence tolerated” poster
  • A sample patient code of conduct
  • “Quick guides” covering de-escalation strategies and basic safety tips on recognizing the warning signs of violence

In addition, policyholders can access relevant ISMIE courses, as well as reputable external sources.
