In this interview, she explains the importance of ensuring that patients are receiving preventive healthcare services promptly and as needed, particularly given that many such visits may have been postponed by patients' reluctance to seek care amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this point in the pandemic, what are your thoughts on how patients have been impacted by postponing care?

Because so many patients have not sought out their usual preventive healthcare or follow-up care over the past two years, physicians are reporting that they are seeing an uptick in a wide range of health issues, from mental health problems to increased rates of heart disease and stroke diagnosis to advanced-stage cancers.
